Artist's Statement: Growth often comes from a place of darkness. In many circumstances, as we build upon the small moments of growth, we experience even more growth. Ultimately growth will lead us to the light until we have bloomed and reached a new understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Artist Bio:  Alex grew up doodling on any paper that was given to her (which made for some decorative homework assignments). She has always been interested in creatively filling spaces to create balance while maintaining fun and whimsy. She has been a professional artist for almost 4 years, but found her style just two years ago when she decided to create some hand-painted ornaments for her friends and family. She wanted a Scandinavian folk art feel. Since that time she has developed her own unique style she calls, "contemporary folk art." She draws inspiration from nature, family, personal memories, and her connection to God. Alex grew up in Utah, but currently resides in Rexburg, ID.
